With your membership & donations, here are just some of the programs and events we are able to provide. Many of these programs also require volunteers, so please consider signing up.
Due to COVID-19, we may not be able provide all of the programs and events we normally provide. However, we will continue to do what we can to enrich and improve your child’s school experience.
Music & Movement
We help provide music and movement classes for each class in the school. These classes are selected by the teacher and may be dance class, drumming, or even sign language and are provided by outside instructors. Coding Classes
Coding classes are provided to each class in the school through outside instructors from Code for Fun. For more information, please contact Mrs. Hoang at mhoang@eesd.org.
ABC Reading
ABC Reading is a reading program from Project Cornerstone which provides lessons on character building. ABC stands for Asset Building Champions. Our volunteers go into classrooms once a month to read a book and provide a lesson on character building. Arts Attack
Arts Attack is a DVD-based visual arts curriculum taught by volunteers in the classroom. It teaches age-appropriate art lessons which include both the elements and principles of art. To be an Arts Attack volunteer in your child’s classroom, please contact our Arts Attack Coordinator at cc.pta.artsattack@gmail.com.
Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement is a business and economics program designed to complement the California State curriculum standards. The program for each grade level includes a series of five activities focusing on economics, entrepreneurship, personal finance, citizenship, and workforce/life skills. Reflections Art Contest
Reflections is an art program that has been conducted by the National PTA since 1969. This program promotes creativity through 6 different categories: Music, Dance, Literature, Photography, Visual Art, and Film/Video. Each year the National PTA selects a theme and students submit entries based on that particular theme. Participants and winners are recognized at a celebration. Fall and Spring Scholastic Book Fairs
Each year we host two Scholastic Book Fairs, one in the fall and one in the spring. These events usually coincide with Back to School Night and Open House. The book fairs allow students to purchase books and school supplies. We use the proceeds to fund our programs and sometimes donate some money or books/supplies to our school library as well. Fall Carnival
Our annual fall carnival usually takes place in October and is a fun event for students to come and play games and win prizes! The event is admission free, but booths are set up by teachers and clubs to raise money. 100% of the money raised goes back to the teachers’ classrooms or the clubs.
Grandparents Day
Grandparents are such special people, and our PTA likes to hold a special event just for them. Since Grandparents Day is in early September, we host a lunch where grandparents (or other family members) can come and have lunch with their grandchildren.
Club Run
Our Cub Run is a fundraising event to help us raise funds for our PTA programs. It is also a great way for our cubs to be healthy and have fun!
Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland generally takes place in December and is a fun holiday event for all to enjoy! We have games to play and a holiday shopping boutique, not to mention live performances by students. The game and treat booths are set up by teachers and clubs, and all proceeds go back to the classrooms and clubs.
Screen-Free Week Activities
During May, we celebrate Screen-Free Week by committing to a week away from screens (unless used for work or school). During this week, we host fun, screen-free events for students and their families to come and enjoy for free!
By joining the Carolyn Clark PTA, you also become a member of the National and State PTA. The membership period lasts from July 1 to June 30, with a grace period for renewal from July 1 to October 31st.
